The race last season was one of a kind. The gap difference between them and other teams was extremely much but this season they have been less impressive. Perhaps because of injuries or some players they sold out. However, it isn't a bad season for them because they were able to go far in the Champions League until Bayern Munich decided to eliminated from the Champions League. This has not been their worst season so they still have next season to do better.
This season Bayern Munich has been able to show the difference in their performance compared to last season, both in the Bundesliga and in the Champions League which has succeeded in reaching the quarter-finals.
