Well, I think that being early is relative to every shift as you say. You can be early on one thing and take advantage of it until the next big thing happens. The world is constantly changing so we always have to adapt to what is being innovated however what you have as an example, I do not think the crypto would be shifting to that.

Every time, people hype up different crypto projects and concepts and all the time it does not meet expectations and gets forgotten over time. This big shift you talk about can just be hype when in the end the fundamental crypto concepts are the only ones we need and will use for longer time.
