Pep's private life aside, they fumbled with decision making especially with the players they let go and the players they let stay. Ahead of tue season, players like Kevin De Bruyne, Kovacic, Bernado Silva and Ilkay Gundugan shouldn't have stayed further. I was excited for Gundugan return but there's no way they could keep up with the pace of the premier league competition. Erling Haaland also fumbled as he struggled with converting chances, the exit of Julian Alvarez affected em as he would have brought a lot for them in goal with Erling flopping. All of these affected them.
If there is one transfer amongst all that I rate as the worse decision that Guardiola made was selling Julian Alvarez in the summer of 2024. Manchester City made a very huge mistake letting Alvarez leave the club if not I think he would have been really crucial for them in these struggling weeks. Nevertheless players like KDB, Kovacic, Bernado, Gundogan, have to leave the club as they only offer just little to the team now.
