we can try and gamble responsibly and have a very strong self control but when it is the chemicals in our brain that does the work how much of the addiction can we prevent? can we train our brain to never get addicted or is it almost inevitable?
How Much Control Do We Have Over Gambling Addiction?
People say "gamble responsibly," but is addiction really a choice? Gambling triggers dopamine in the brain, just like drugs. Over time, you need bigger bets to feel the same excitement.
Self-control helps, but addiction isn’t just about willpower. Some people’s brains make them more likely to get hooked. Can we train our brains to avoid addiction? Maybe, but there’s no perfect solution. Things like therapy and mindfulness help, but addiction is complex.
