Giving chances to young players is OK. But what happens to these youngsters in the long run? They are given a few matches, and then they get forgotten. The PCB doesn't have a system where young players are properly groomed. The team remains overdependent on senior players such as Mohammad Rizwan, Babar Azam, Saud Shakeel, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah. Name one young player, who emerged during the last 2-3 years, and has a permanent spot in the playing XI. There are none.

The dilemma which is destroying Pakistan cricket at the moment is nepotism. Shaheen Shah Afridi is only in team because his father in law Shahid Afridi has great influence in PCB. Another flop all rounder that has made his way back in team is Shadab Khan, his father in law Saqlain Mushtaq has done the lobbing for his return to team without any improvement in his performance. Rizwan and Babar are dropped but they will be back soon. PCB is only interested in making a team by shuffling old players and that's why new players are not given enough chances to prove themselves.
It's not just Pakistan cricket that has nepotism, but in all teams, new and talented players don't get a chance due to the nepotism of such cricketers. If someone is influential in cricket management, then under their umbrella, players remain in the squad despite poor performance for a long time. If a team continues to be dominated by nepotism, the influence of legendary cricketers, and not giving priority to new players, then that cricket will gradually lose its strength, as is currently being widely observed in Pakistan.
