Is the gig economy the future of work or does it create more financial uncertainty??
For some people it's their bread and butter and they're happy with the income that they generate via freelancing or doing gig work, and for others it's a good part time income and that can buy them food, stuff, or help them to have vacations. It can be full-time work for the ones who live in third world countries but those who live in 1st world countries consider is more as an additional source of income and nothing else.
wonder if gig economy and freelancing might get affected by AI as well, currently companies are taking efficient approach of cutting corner and just putting AI and call it a day.same thing can happen to freelancing and gig economy in my opinion, since so many new startups can't hold themselves from releasing the best AI to put people out of their jobs nowadays not to mention with massive funding from bunch of VC as well.
if that's the case, I see even dimmer future than gig economy era. freelancing job might becoming scarcer and there might be less opportunity for people that you mentioned in the future.
