I remember a year or two transactions going as high as $30, and it was a holiday season, and I needed to trade my Bitcoin to fiat. I did three transactions with that fee during the holdays, so its something I always anticipated when holidays come, and it comes as a big surprise that this last holiday the highest was $0.50. I also hope that we will not encounter such an issue, but I know there's no guarantee, but hopefully not on a holiday.
