A strong team like Pakistan would perform so poorly which was not expected. Both the opening batsmen were dismissed for 0, which put Pakistan under a lot of pressure. The first 5 batsmen collected a total of 22 runs which was disappointing, Hasan Nawaz 0 runs out and Mohammad Haris 0 runs out and Salman Agha 18 runs out and Shadab Khan 3 runs out and Irfan Khan 1 run out, I didn't expect such a bad performance from them. In the end Pakistan collected 91 runs which was a very small target in T20 format. New Zealand won by 9 wickets in 10.1 overs. Now 1-0 lead in the series after winning the 1st match in New Zealand. So Pakistan players have to perform well in the next matches. If Pakistan's batsmen don't perform well, then Pakistan won't win.
It is difficult to accept such a decline in a renowned team like Pakistan. We have been seeing such poor and erratic performances of Pakistani players for a long time. There are many talented players in the squad. Yet their performance is very poor. The Pakistan Cricket Board has completely failed to solve their problems. We have been seeing such misery of Pakistan for the last 3/4 years.
I knew that Pakistan would not do well in the New Zealand home series. But it was expected that Pakistan would play so badly. Pakistan gave a target of only 92 runs. The pitch was not bowling friendly. Even then Pakistan failed to play well. Batting on the same pitch, New Zealand reached the target of victory in 10.1 overs.
