Indeed, behavioral changes would really matter if a person would value essential aspects in life particular with family needs especially when they had families to feed. Unfortunately, I've observed a lot of families at my local community couldn't control their emotions with respect to gambling habits. To the point of worst times in their lives, it went raging conflicts and even family fights and troubles would eradicate once that person of interest drastically spend all of their family money just for gambling in order to satisfy that gambling desires.
Even with the family responsibility at hand to be taken care of, the person will need to also have that personal decision of wanting to be prudent with the family funds and not want to spend them gambling because that will be a very important factor to making such person not want to spend the family funds to the point it becomes a problem and lead to all of the family crisis as stayed in your comment.

Families who are aware of the gambling habits of their loved one, should try not to allowing them to be in custody of certain money so as to help them prevent issues like this even before it happens.
