It was almost impossible for PSG to win against Liverpool. Even after losing the first leg at home , none of us thought that psg would be able to qualify for the quarter-finals. This impossible task was made possible by PSG players with the help of Luis Enrique. Luis Enrique is very experienced in the champions league platform.
Since psghas won against a strong team like liverpool, Aston villa is not a difficult opponent for PSG at the moment. PSG players are in form and they are very confident. The road to qualifying for the semi-finals is relatively easy for PSG.
I don’t think everyone actually ruled PSG out from qualifying although most people pinched towards Liverpool due to their impressive performance in the group stage competition when they lost just once and topped the league. Although PSG started the competition so poorly they covered up for their mistakes by coming up good in the last few matches of the group stage and this was backed up with impressive performance again in the playoffs.
So PSG getting Liverpool as their round of 16 opponents and the fact that Liverpool actually had been having bad performances since the turn of the year, some fans actually saw the game in advantage of PSG. The first leg even after PSG showed they could beat Liverpool just anytime.
As for Aston Villa against PSG again even though PSG are ontop of their game I wouldn’t rashly rule out Aston Villa again like people did already, they have been excellent in the competition so far and can stand a chance to qualify because they also have knock out competition genius as their manager in respect of Unai Emery. So PSG shouldn’t treat Aston Villa as any underdog but rather their equal
