I would be surprised if they beat PSG. I know that they have been good and they tried to make it to the quarter-finals, but I don't see them making it to the semis. I rate Emery a lot and I believe he's a top manager, if anyone can do it then it's him but in this case, the quality of PSG is way more than that of Aston Villa. Also, Enrique is not a small coach, he's a good tactician too.
If the match was a single match then Aston Villa will have a better chance because they can defend well and score a goal and qualify but a two-legged tie makes things very difficult for them to qualify. PSG will make it to the semi-finals, but I don't know if they can win Madrid if Madrid qualifies.
It was almost impossible for PSG to win against Liverpool. Even after losing the first leg at home , none of us thought that psg would be able to qualify for the quarter-finals. This impossible task was made possible by PSG players with the help of Luis Enrique. Luis Enrique is very experienced in the champions league platform.
Since psghas won against a strong team like liverpool, Aston villa is not a difficult opponent for PSG at the moment. PSG players are in form and they are very confident. The road to qualifying for the semi-finals is relatively easy for PSG.
Since the beginning, PSG was not favored in the UCL this season, especially having to face a team that had performed impressively from the start, of course everyone would favor Liverpool, but after PSG managed to eliminate Liverpool from the UCL league. We all know that the coach factor is very influential in the UCL league competition, and that was proven by PSG eliminating Liverpool.
Arne Slot is still too green in a competition like the UCL League, in other words, he does not have much experience, this is different from Enrique who already understands the UCL league competition very well. Remember, Xabi Alonso felt that and once said he wanted to seek more experience at Bayern Leverkusen which was proven in his second season where all teams had read his playing character, the result was that Bayern Leverkusen could not say much in the Champions League. Even if we take another example, someone like Zidane was lucky to be able to experience the Champions League atmosphere first as Ancelotti's assistant coach at that time before coaching Real Madrid so he could learn a lot about how to shape the mentality of players at the Champions League level.
So in my opinion, Liverpool lost because their coach still had minimal experience at the Champions League level. Just look at the match in Leg 1, Liverpool could lose in terms of tactics and player mentality even though they could finally win. However, in Leg 2, Arne Slot still has not found the answer to overcome PSG's onslaught which in the end could equalize the aggregate until the penalty shootout. So it is true as you said PSG can advance to the next round because they have an experienced coach.
Next PSG will face Aston Villa, on paper PSG is very favored to be able to beat Aston Villa but PSG should not underestimate Aston Villa who are currently in good form under the guidance of Unai Emery. Hopefully PSG can beat Aston Villa and Real Madrid can beat Arsenal so that the semifinal match later will be even more interesting for us to look forward to.
