The history that cannot be denied is about PSG who have never won the Champions League until last season, although for this season I personally still can't be sure. And for the match between PSG and Aston Villa, almost everyone will favor PSG as the team that will advance to the next round, but that doesn't mean we should think that Aston Villa is weak because it could be that the team will prepare a clever strategy to be able to beat PSG in the quarter-finals this time.
PSG’s main target has a team is to win the UEFA Champions League which is why they are always trying to sign world-class players from several team just to make it through in the Champions, but despite all their effort of bringing together world-class players including Messi, they weren’t lucky to win the Champions League.
However, they go again this season, Luis Enrique is here to do his best for the team again with the club layers they have at hand; defeating Liverpool is an encouragement to them because they have eliminated one of the tough team in the Champions League, therefore, I think they can easily eliminate Aston Villa to face either Arsenal or Real Madrid in the semifinals which is also another big test.
PSG's first mistake since a few seasons ago was that they tried to make Galacticos just like Madrid did in La Liga but in the end things like that don't really have a big impact on their performance in the Champions League especially when you see what they do by looking for old players like Messi or Sergio a few seasons ago that only fulfill the quota of star players but their age is not really suitable for big competitions.
Now Enrique is trying something new where they are focusing more on developing young players even though the initial transition did not match expectations but now the results are quite visible where some of their young players seem better in terms of performance for now.
Now they are trying their luck again even the chance for the semi-finals is still quite big for them now so of course this is a good moment as proof that indeed what Enrique did (although this is their first season changing the old system) but the results are still quite good.
