This nonsense is the same thing that has trended in a local WhatsApp group that I'm a member and I floored the guy without delay. Bringing it here strictly shows that these scammers never rest.
If you're leasing your LinkedIn account, note the following- You are responsible for any scam activities that ensures as a result of people that connected with you clicking that link
- You are giving up the unique identity that is native to your account, since you can be a software developer by bio, and marketer by activity
- Your account may be lost to the scammers since they have your login credentials
- These companies are anonymous, just like the media design which advertises no company apart from you giving up your account for marketing
- You are going against LinkedIn T&C by leasing your account
- Your reputation is at risk since most LinkedIn accounts are registered in actual names
- Even if you don't loose the account, the inconsistencies from activities on the account would be a testimony against you in futuristic endeavors
- Your account is out of your control when leased and you cannot question how they use it or contents they post on it
QUESTTIONS YOU SHOULD ASK YOURSELF BEFORE LEASING- Why didn't they go ahead and create a company account on LinkedIn with a genuine Identity and hire marketers with their HR department for this purpose?
- Why do they need only accounts that are minimum a specific age for their promotion? it's obvious so that LinkedIn system wouldn't easily flag their activities as illegal since it is with an old account
- Why are they not being specific on the kind of marketing they intend undertaking?
- If it was legitimate, why are they hiding in other people's accounts instead of owning up and presenting an identity
- Is the peanuts they pay worth the negative identity that might arise from your account promoting scam activities?
