I am not even sure this is about authority anymore, to be honest. We could even start to talk about colonialism and imperialism when we refer to the role the USA and Israel are taking concerning gas strip and his inhabitants.
USA has tried to picture Israel as an oasis of democracy and prosperity within a desert of muslin countries which do not have such a high economical success as Israel does, but we must wonder who much of that success is there thanks to the taxpayer dollars of the average joe in the USA... The support is unconditional, so the money is going to continue to flow to Israel, not matter how much violence they unleash in the middle east.
It is not a proxy war yet, between Hamas and USA, by the way but it will be if things continues to escalate as fast as they have.
