And this is precisely why I have hopes for them to do better at Europa league than they do in their own league. Of course winning the whole thing would be very tough, and nobody expects them to do that, but if United or Spurs somehow magically end up beating their opponents and one of them ends up winning? That would recover their season completely. Nobody will remember the season where they finished 13th or something, they will remember the season they won Europa league.

Also only the Europa League trophy can get them into next season’s Champions League automatically so both Manchester United and Tottenham will have to work hard to get it.
