Lucas Paquetá faces ‘biggest game of life’ as spot-fixing trial gets under way

For those familiar with soccer and gambling it's already a well known case which is going on for a long time. Finally it's coming to a conclusion, and if a 'life ban' from professional soccer is really going to happen, many other players will think twice before engaging in cheating from now on, because that means a life sentence.

Please discuss if you think this punishment is too harsh, or if it's appropriate, due to the gravity of the situation.

Also, what is the impact of this case over gambling industry?
Match fixing is an old thing we normally hear especially in some of the games we play here where we are made to know that match fixing is a thing. But I rarely believe that especially with the introduction of the VAR. But this case in question is actually difficult to believe as there are strong evidence supporting the allegation. I don't want to conclude but let us see what will come out from the investigation and the legal processes.
