Luis Enrique is doing a great job especially because they got rid of all the star players and he's building a young team. Of course they spent a lot of money for those players but I appreciate this PSG way more than the old one.
I think the players that were gotten rid of like Messi, Neymar and Mbappe didn't affect the team in anyway. For me, I think PSG's resurgence in the champions league has to do with the signing of Kvaratskhelia. They've great players but It's as if he was the missing piece of the puzzle. His came on has transformed the team. His champions league debut was the first leg against Liverpool and he was the one that stole the show. I hope he doesn't get injured because his workrate and contribution to the team will help them go a long way.
I mean, let's be honest: Mbappé was there because he was getting paid a huge amount of money that nobody was willing to give him; Neymar probably at first was quite excited to be there because he wouldn't be in Messi's shadow anymore and he could have been the only real team star, but it didn't happen; then we have Messi who, just like Mbappé, managed to sign a ridiculous contract but he never cared about PSG or Paris, he didn't even learn a little French in 2 years... That's what you get when you have too many big names who don't care at all about the team but only about the money.
I think PSG owner: Nassel Al-Khalaifi influenced signing of Messi and Neymar Jr. hoping that with Mbappe PSG would be formidable enough to win UCL trophy which had remained elusive to the club for many years unfortunately that setup with those super stars didn't work out for team except their consistency in winning Ligue 1, thereafter Neymar Jr was prone to injury and there was some speculations around that Messi and Mbappe are not on a good terms so all these issues really affected the team with the exit of the duo of Messi and Neymar Jr. Mbappe later joined Real Madrid, The team is now balanced kudos to Luis Enrique for rebuilding the team.
