That loss to Barcelona must've been hard to swallow for Atletico and their fans.
Sorloth increasing the lead to 2-0 with only 20 minutes to go seemed like a guaranteed 3 points, but finally they ended up with no points and a 2-4 loss. Pretty devastating.
Atletico currently is 4 points behind Real and Barca which is not a huge gap, but Barcelona is playing an outstanding game against Osasuna this Thu, and if they win, the distance would be 7 points. That would mean that even if Atletico were to win all their remaining games (which is very unlikely) they would still have to hope for Barcelona to underperform.
I'm really impressed with how effective Barcelona is in their attack. They have an average of 2.78 goals scored per league game. If they keep it up, they will end up with over 100 league goals this season.
I think the result of that game would have been very devastating to the entire Athletico Madrid side considering the fact they were 2 goals ahead of the opponent, with the home advantage in hand, they had everything in control until they lost concentration and allowed Barcelona to steal the show with about 20 minutes left to play, more devastating is the fact that they lost the game with a 2 goal margin even haven scored in twice in this game. Barcelona's form this season has been very awesome and they have done so many come back this season more than any other team this season, one against Real Madrid, one against benfica, and another against Athletico Madrid, they seem invincible at the moment and it looks as if they would end up with either two or at least one major trophy this season.
