They are still claiming that Messi is re-signing for Barcelona in the summer of 2026. What do you think about the reliability of this?

I liked the plan of coinciding his signing with the time of their returning to Camp Nou though.  Smiley  The fans would love the idea as well but I still can't trust these sources completely... Normally I was also hoping to see his jubilee at Barcelona instead of his childhood team Newell's Old Boys or somewhere else. Watching him side by side with Yamal for some games sounds quite interesting. But probably this will stay as a rumour only. I feel like he will end his career in the USA. He already owns the MLS.  Tongue
The entire "Messi back to Barca in 2026" rumors just won't die. Messi coming for a symbolic last dance, maybe even a last Champions League run, Camp Nou completely renovated. But Messi himself has made it pretty clear: he's happy in Miami, not thinking long-term, and not rushing into anything. He's not letting up anytime soon, but Europe will be a challenge at age 39

Also, Barcelona's finances aren't exactly booming. They are still fighting La Liga's financial fair play, so it will not be possible to bring Messi back (even on a temporary loan) unless they do some significant accounting exercise. Besides, his relationship with Laporta is not that warm

That Yamal pairing is fascinating. The child's 19 by then is most likely a Barca cornerstone, and the idea of the two linking together excites me. But Messi would no longer be the big man. Would he be willing to accept that? This is all nostalgia bait until Messi himself says otherwise. Undeniably, it would be the perfect fairytale. Yet what if we're betting? Messi, the undisputed MLS king, retires in Miami. Everyone in the U.S loves him, there's a toe of money, and he's already the league owner
