Vincent Kompany became the first manager to win his first three away games since Pep Guardiola in 2015/16 and Bayern has scored 29 goals in his first eight games in charge.
Now, Bayern is at the top of the table. Do you think this is not good enough?
Kompany is one of the good coaches in the Bundesliga right now. IMO
Kompany has done his job well and hit back at critics who said the job at Bayern was ‘too big for him.’
Frankly speaking, this record sounds extremely strange considering how Bayern usually dominates the Bundesliga. It is clear that these are specific conditions for setting a record (a new coach does not appear every year), but still.
As for Kompany, it is difficult to judge how good or bad he is - Bayern should take the Bundesliga title in any case, and the quarter-finals of the Champions League are almost nothing to draw conclusions about. Last season, Dortmund were in the final, remaining in 5th place in the Bundesliga.
Bayern Munich have found their rhythm again after only one season of losses in the league. But one of the reasons for this is that Leverkusen are in worse shape this season than last season. I think Kompany is not a good manager for Bayern Munich and the fact that their rivals are having a bad season is an advantage for him. In the Celtic game we saw Bayern Munich sounding the alarm and I actually think they will find it really difficult against tougher opponents in the Champions League. Bayern Munich can win the league title but I would say that Kompany needs to win the Champions League to say that he is a good manager.
