Frankly speaking, this record sounds extremely strange considering how Bayern usually dominates the Bundesliga. It is clear that these are specific conditions for setting a record (a new coach does not appear every year), but still.
As for Kompany, it is difficult to judge how good or bad he is - Bayern should take the Bundesliga title in any case, and the quarter-finals of the Champions League are almost nothing to draw conclusions about. Last season, Dortmund were in the final, remaining in 5th place in the Bundesliga.
After reading about the record I just thought so too, I thought how possible would it be for Bayern Munich that dominated this league for years and not win 3 consecutive away games all these years. It means the teams here too are not always easy to beat at their home stadium. The record is really strange for a dominant team like Bayern Munich but I guess this is football and nothing is impossible.
You are right it is impossible to rate Kompany’s performance now but so far they are on the right track and they looks better than when under Tuchel’s leadership. Their performance is not perfect yet but there is improvement in their game compared to last season.
