I'll not be surprised if Liverpool after the international break begins to drop points in the league after their disappointing elimination from the UEFA Champions League followed by a Caraboa Cup final defeat to Newcastle last weekend. If only Mikel Arteta's Arsenal were more consistent than they've been, this would've been a perfect time for them to hope for Liverpool to drop points so they can win the league but considering the points difference between not the teams, it's almost impossible for Liverpool to miss out from winning the English Premier League title this season.
Arne Slot started the season very well and that gave Liverpool fans a big hope that they'll most likely finish the season with more than a trophy but at the moment, it seems they'll be settling for just one trophy which is the league trophy
I quite agree with you that Liverpool wouldn’t be as good as they were when the season started and the reason is simply because of lack of motivation from this position, Liverpool were in high spirits before because they had not the treble alone on their sight but even the quadruple was actually quite achievable but within a space of two months they have been left with just the premier league (which to me is the biggest though, although the champions league is slightly ahead). For me it is not the players facing fatigue or any major injuries like that but rather it is Arne Slot pattern of football that is falling apart.
Arne Slot inherited a fast attacking style of Jurgen Klopp and he used that for a while with the likes of Mo Salah having a good run in this pattern all for him to actually just switch to a low block pattern, a pattern he had once accused Manchester United team of playing, this new pattern is seriously what is causing problem in the team.
As for Arsenal they second best for third season a row, possibly could be the last time they will even come close to winning it again because they aren’t getting better to do any wonders
