5.Check if there isn’t an unsual activity in your PC.
In as much this  could be very useful to identify malware, it can still be somehow hard a little to figure out..
Most of this activity runs as a daemon, it could be tricky to figure out as they wouldn't want to make it spooky and if you're a type that's always having lots of background processes running it might be a little bit challenging to identify..but generally it's a good approach.

Not that you should always check, but always check it's coming from the right source official email address.. the "urgency" like  as a subject could make a user click link filled with malware without  verifying the source and the attacker we love to use that, all he have to do is make the email template look like it's coming from a right source..
