we are no longer in the era of aerial dog-fights of fighter planes. these days its the era of unmanned drone warfare

Currently, drones still have many limitations and cannot completely replace manned fighter jets to perform more important missions. Maybe they will be studied more and will play an important role in future air wars, but not now.

Recently, the US government also announced the launch of the F-47 fighter jet project with contractor Boeing. That shows they have no intention of completely eliminating manned fighters, and not long ago they also announced a push for the NGAD program to replace the F-22, F/A-18E/F. This is said to be the perfect combination system between manned and unmanned fighter aircraft to bring greater efficiency in air combat.
