Everyone around me that I saw took gambling as a source of income become broke. They sold some of their belongings like TV, computer and some other things just because they are so much addicted. But luckily they have all recovered after they know that they are about to finish ruining their lives. Gambling is not a source of income. Anyone that think gambling is a source of income is foolish.
Trust me, I had much knowledge about the risks of gambling, I knew that gambling is never going to replace a stable income or a job. However, I think that wasn’t enough to keep me away of it, foolish? Yeah, maybe I was but at the same time, it was a lesson for me. I had the same experience as your friends, I had to take a loan, thinking I will recover my losses, after a losing streak, in my head, there was noway that I keep losing so many times in one slot, but it happened and it was a painful wake up call.
After that, I have learned that some people are more likely to get addicted or tempted to risk so many things over that adrenaline rush, and over confidence to get a max win. I cannot agree more when you say that anyone thinking of gambling as a way to make an income, he will end up broke or realize the truth at the end.
