Segwit is an upgrade in a way people need not to use legacy address anymore. It has cheaper fee. If you send from segwit to segwit, you will save 42% on fee and up to 52% or so depending on the inputs and outputs in the transaction.
Are fees higher if I send from SegWit to legacy addresses?
The fee reduction will still be up to 41%.
You can still import legacy address on Electrum wallet. If you are using a computer, you can still use a command to generate legacy address through the console.
