I'm very curious to know of all the folks in here that gamble, did your parents gamble when you were growing up and is that the reason that you gamble as well? Or is the very reason that you gamble was because your parents shunned it? I feel like this could go either way. It could also be a neutral stance.

My father used to be a gambler and maybe even a gambling addict when I was a kid although I don't really remember it but I was always told during his time as a person that he failed and his past was bleak as a reminder that I should not do the same thing or be on the same path with gambling addiction as he already felt.

I always keep this in mind even though it cannot be denied that today I also sometimes still do gambling and my father knows about it but he does not try to prohibit further because he knows what his son's capacity is. I always emphasize myself not to gamble too often and only gamble with money that I have prepared and losing it is not a problem for me.
I am always reminded even every day now by reflecting on his past experiences but for me gambling still cannot be completely separated from myself even though I always try to limit it but cannot be completely free.
