I think it something that should be discussed as a family, and experience living together.
They say that you could never really know someone unless you live with the person on the same roof, and I think it is true, before marrying someone try to live with them to know how they handle things, like emotional and financial problems, know if you could live with them through thick or thin or is it just an emotional outburst.
I believe having a good knowledge of each other as a man and a woman aspiring to get married on a mutual relationship is ok.
Most times partners are engulfed with illusion rather than truly loving one another because all that's to be enjoyed in the marriage is common because they are living together before the marriage proper.
This is why we need the early guidance of those who have genuine proofs in their marital life.
