When we are only alert to something that we consider suspicious, there is a possibility that we will be negligent in some things. But when we discipline ourselves not to approach suspicious things, there is a greater chance that we will not approach scammers or hackers.
As you said, be careful when visiting sites. If we are used to visiting certain sites, whether gambling or familiar exchanges, there is actually no reason for us to visit other sites. So why do we surf looking for new things that are risky?
There is no doubt that scammers are getting smarter day by day, so if we know their previous tactics, there is a possibility that they might come up with something that we never heard about, but what can save us from them, in general, is our basic understanding about how things work in the online world and that we should get vigilant and warn ourselves when we see or hear something about free money because as they say, there is no free dinner.
Apart from that, we as humans can barely control and stop ourselves from looking for new things and new opportunities and there is nothing wrong in that as long as we remember that this world is full of scams and scammers. If we keep that in mind all the time, we wouldn't be easily scammed or be scammed at all.
If we become naive and childish and don't care about what might happen when we get good offers from strangers, then it's our fault if we get scammed.
