I have also given up on Atletico Madrid right from the day Getafe defeated them. That match opened my eyes to the weaknesses of Atletico Madrid when I was having high hopes on them and even thought that they can fight for the league title. Now I know that they are comfortable being a strong team that can rarely win any serious title.
When I look at the rivalry between Barcelona and Madrid and the history of the match I am already not convinced of Atletico. I don't make them League Champions of the Season. I only have 2 candidates this season: Barcelona or Madrid. With the same point conditions, there are still many possibilities that will happen.
Next season maybe Madrid will be better, they have made a deal with Liverpool to Trent Alexander Arnold. In addition, it is possible that the injured players will certainly recover and hopefully they will have more complete players from this season.
Atletico Madrid's strength is not much stronger than Real Madrid and Barcelona so I am not surprised by what happened because I think it is very natural when Atletico Madrid cannot compete fiercely with the two Spanish giants in the fight for the La Liga title this season.
For this season's competition between Barcelona and Real Madrid is still quite fierce and it is even possible for fierce competition to continue until the end of the season but I favor Barcelona a little more because they have a little better consistency than Real Madrid who have many problems this season especially many of their main players are injured.
