Someone made a thread in the altcoin section where he wants to stake but doesn't have enough knowledge about DeFi. A newbie replies to him and invites him to talk through WhatsApp. I don't know what his intention was; it could be good or bad.
I bet, that intention won't be a good one. Why drag someone away from the public gaze where more experienced eyes can see the goings-on with them into a closet were no one finds out what's happening if the intention were good? I've come across many like that, especially on Telegram. Just ask a simple question that looks like you're lost as to what to do with your funds or investment and watch how those brainless cells flood your DM. The pattern is the same here. Newbies should be aware of this.
Inviting someone for a personal chat when the person is looking for solution in a public domain is a red flag and if the person takes the bait there is a high chance that he will be scammed. I have seen a lot invitations on social media platforms especially telegram, the moment when an overzealous helper is inviting someone that needs direction in an open space to chat them privately, my first thought is always that the helper is most likely a scammer. We should not wholeheartedly trust total strangers on the internet, who are offering us help, they might be genuine but how will you know, so it is best to either ignore the request or ask them to say whatever they have to say on the platform.
