“INVESTING” may be for you if you want slow growth with less involvement; “TRADING” may be for you if you enjoy analyzing the market, have time to put it all together, and can tolerate risk.
A combination of both methods work well,if strategically managing a portion of your overall portfolio for trading allows you to invest for growth over the longer term.
Just do both. Invest some of your money for long-term, and at the same time, trade some of your funds as well.
Investing for long term = lower risk, lower reward
Trading = high risk, high reward
Are you willing to risks some of your funds for trading to get some rewards? If yes, then do trading. Investing especially in the stock market for the long-term is very easy. I mean just buy assets that you think will perform well in the long term and just hold it. Trading is very different because you might make some money in a short amount of time, but you can lose as well. It's all about risk like you said OP.
As for me, I'm doing both. I'm invested into the stock market and at the same time, in cryptocurrencies for long-term, but at the same time, I'm trading as well hoping to make some profits.
