But in reality, the payout is 1.96, and the player only receives 1.96 USD.

Yeah, it is what you will receive on a 2% house edge game on 50% win chance. Read my previous post to learn the calculation properly. To make it clear again:

Coin flip has 2% house edge. So, the RTP is 100 - 2 = 98%
The probability of winning is 50%. In order to calculate the payout, you have to divide the RTP by the probability of winning. So, the payout is = 98 ÷ 50 = 1.96

In this game House edge is 2% , so according to house adge you will get 1.98$ if you win.
In case of gambling, most casino games win 2x but receive less than that according to house edge. But in case of sportsbet you will get money according to Odd if you win.
No, you are wrong. On 50% win chance, the payout is
• 1.98× for 1% HE game
• 1.96× for 2% HE game
• 1.94× for 3% HE game

The payout would be 2× in the 2% HE game on the 49% win chance. But the coin flip game win chance is 50% by default. Because the probability of getting heads or tails is equal. As a result, the payout is 1.96× there. The payout depends on the house edge and win chance.
