For the past three seasons, the premier league has been seeing one of the average teams rising up to take a spot in the top 4. Season before last was Newcastle, last season was Aston villa and this season Nottingham forest is showing us that they are next in line to maintain the standard that has being set.
In the last few seasons we have seen surprises in the Premier League. Teams like Aston Villa, Newcastle and Nottingham Forest have performed unexpectedly well. Despite not spending a lot of money to build their squads, they have played well and qualified for the Champions League. Nottingham Forest's performance this season has surprised us all.
However, the problem with these teams is that after performing well for just one season, they disappear. After Newcastle qualified for the Champions League, I thought that this team would compete for the Premier League title. They would build a stronger squad. But Newcastle were not interested in spending too much money. As a result, the team failed to compete for the title.
Although Nottingham Forest performed well this season, it cannot be said that we will not see the end of this team next season. There is a high possibility that we will see a bad performance from Nottingham next season and we will see this team in the top 6 of the table.
