Honestly I'm glad to see the change by Red Bull. 
Lawson wasn't like this when he raced for Racing Bulls/AlphaTauri in the past. He looked promising.
But now there is none of that ambition left... Tsunoda is a much better driver. His experience shouldn't also be underestimated at all. I don't think it'll be the same as Lawson.
By the way I've heard they can't contact Lawson because he doesn't answer his phones after learning about this on social media.
Tsunoda probably is better option than Lawson, but I don't expect miracles from him too. Red Bull is trapped as long as they have Verstappen in their team. They made car for Max and it's written in the stars that their 2nd driver will struggle. But this season so far we saw that even for Verstappen it's difficult to achieve great results. Yeah, I expect that Yuki will perform better, simply because it's difficult to perfrom worse than Lawson did. He will deliver some points, but not that much as Red Bull wants. And I guess that his hot blood, which often reflects on radio messages might be a problem.
At least we'll have buwaytress picking him for the podium each race.
