Osimhen wasn't cheap at the summer time though. Sure he went to Galatasaray now, and he is open for sale at 75 million now, but that happened after European window closed, and Turkish league knows this is a benefit to them, so they make it end a bit later, to get players for cheaper that failed to be sold at European deadline.
So we heard news about Osimhen being shopped around during the summer, PSG and Chelsea wanted him, but Napoli wanted 130 million, which was release clause at the time. So he wasn't 75 million like he is today. Now if they make a mistake and not buy him this summer, that would be a real big mistake and they will be showing why they are bad. But I understand why they didn't get him last summer.
If there was a list of the best active forwards, we would have expected everyone to put Osimhen in third place after Haaland and Mbappe. Other teams failed to sign him, either because the Napoli president was stubborn in negotiations or because he targeted the average market price. Then there were some disagreements in the Napoli team and an opportunity transfer for Galatasaray was born. This was an extraordinary development in every sense. Nobody could have predicted what happened a year ago...
