Talking about buying the dip and holding it in long term, we should consider this word "patient"  because any investors that is patient enough can't never wait for a long term investment than going for short term investment, some investors didn't have have self discipline when it comes to wait for a long term, that is why many are going for a short term investment, assuming Bitcoin can invent or program their way of investments from like 5 years up, so that many investors will not being using Bitcoin as a betting opportunity, since many make use of short term instead of long term investment.

If you don't like short-term investors who rely on Bitcoin as their investment, you don't need to see them as a benchmark or example for yourself because everyone is always free to choose their path and see the good examples they want through others when they want to invest in Bitcoin. And one more thing is that Bitcoin does not make a five-year investment program for anyone because it is only aimed at each person who believes in Bitcoin and is willing to be patient to keep it after buying it at a low price or the price they want at that time.

You just need to apply what you like as long as it can really bring better benefits and profits through Bitcoin investment because you yourself can also be a long-term investor without having to comment on other investors who move in the short term. Because your own profits will not be shared with them as well as the losses they experience which will also not be shared with you yourself. So just by running your own ideas and plans on investment even though it is not wrong to give the best advice to all other investors, but be sure that not all of them will want to hear what you say.
Alot of short term investor/investment in these write up and now I'm wondering, it there a thing like short-term investment in bitcoin?? As far am I'm concerned 'short term' in bitcoin means trading not investing because any form of investment in bitcoin has to be long term to actually make profit, Price DIP happens, and it is a nemesis for the so called short term investors as their entire investment can get slashed so low that they don't make any profit from it, anyone with any intention of getting any profit out of bitcoin has to be prepared for long term investment since this is basically the only form of investment in bitcoin.
I disagree with you, I don't understand how someone who has good knowledge about Bitcoin can make decisions like a newbie? He already has good knowledge about Bitcoin, and he knows about the benefits and risks of Bitcoin. In my opinion, an investor who knows the essentials and is well-versed in Bitcoin will never decide to invest an amount of money that he cannot afford to lose. This kind of behavior is only for new investors who want to make a quick profit and take irrational risks due to greed. An investor who knows the real long-term potential of Bitcoin will never worry about short-term profits, even if Bitcoin dumps a lot or pumps a lot while continuing his holding, he will still continue his long-term investment and holding according to his goal.
I don't think there is anyone out there who doesn't mind losing money no matter how small, before I decided to invest, it was to grow my money, not lose it, also discretionary income isn't money you can afford to lose, it's what's left of your income after all your basic necessities have been taken care of so it's definitely not money you can afford to lose, it's just money you can use at your discretion for whatever you want to use it for, if you are robbed of your discretionary income you will be pained by that loss regardless of how rich you are because the richer you are the higher your discretionary income is, losing it will hurt I don't think any investor want to lose their money.
In my opinion, an investor who knows the essentials and is well-versed in Bitcoin will never decide to invest an amount of money that he cannot afford to lose.
Using the term money that he cannot afford to lose makes it sound alot like gambling and not investing because gamblers are the ones usually adviced to gamble responsibly and with money they can afford to lose. An investor should never have this mindset
Just because you were advised in the gambling section of the forum to always use the money you can afford to lose when gambling doesn't imply that if you are also using the money you can afford to lose when investing in bitcoin for the long term, you are gambling with your bitcoin investment. Since bitcoin is a long-term investment, it is suitable for someone who wants to invest in bitcoin for the long term to always use the money he or she can comfortably afford to lose when investing in bitcoin so that he or she will always have 100% control over his or her bitcoin and have enough money left that will take care of his or her daily expenses and be in the perfect state of mind to hold his or her bitcoin portfolio for the long term, so don't be deceived that when someone is using the money he or she can afford to lose to invest in bitcoin, he or she is not gambling with his or her bitcoin investment because that is the right way to go about bitcoin investment.
