Marriage is often romanticized, but the reality is far more complex. Many couples enter marriage with little understanding of how to navigate conflicts, communicate effectively, or manage shared responsibilities. So, what kind of marriage education do we actually need?
First, we need practical tools—not just fluffy theories. Think conflict resolution skills, financial planning, and emotional intelligence training. Second, real talk about expectations. Too many people go into marriage with unrealistic ideals, only to face disappointment later. Finally, normalize ongoing education. Marriage isn’t a one-time event; it’s a journey that requires constant learning and adaptation.
What’s missing in today’s marriage education? Should it start earlier, like in schools? Or is it something couples should figure out on their own? Let’s discuss!
People change and method change too, we have marriage that have well foundation knowledge but when it comes to the practice of marriage, alot is at stake since marriage is between two adults and humans change as frequently as possible, it will be hard to have a set method or awareness that supports the success of the marriage, so for me marriage should be based on understanding and support in emotional and physical ways, since we grow and face new challenges each day, alot of new things and ideas will come up but the ability to deal with them as a couple and still mentain so level of closeness to our spouse matters.
Always have it in mind that marriage is all about understanding any other thing are just spices in a short while. You hear people saying how they fell in love with their partner and as time flies, they began losing touch of that love. The issue is not that they don't love their partner anymore, but they don't show the love because the reason why they love their partner is gradually fading. People love for beauty, for money, for fame, for body stature, for several reasons. When all of this thing starts fading away the love decreases but with all of these if you have the best understanding with your partner, you will see their flaws, you will see how everything they once had when you love them keeps vanishing, but you are ready to stand by them through all. That is pure understanding of what love means.
