I would not call them a threat at the moment. The technology is still very crude and is far from mainstream adoption. It also is not a threat when it can be adopted into the current casino system, as it gets more popular more casinos will integrate it into their system and it will start to get more refined when more investment funds are pumped in as each tries to outdo the other.

Casino owners are business people and if VR becomes a thing that majority of gamblers are interested in the future I'm sure that they'll integrate it into their games. Having this assumption in mind I don't think that VR or AR will be a threat to the existing physical and online casinos, online casinos haven't stopped people from gambling in physical casinos so I doubt that VR will be a threat to gambling in general. Change is constant in life and VR is welcome to join in giving gamblers more experience, that is if majority of gamblers embrace it
What is definition of threat? If VR or AR is a threat, then it will make the current way of online casinos go into existence not the casino itself. The casino will adopt the new method to implement VR and AR games in their online platform of physical casino.
Virtual reality cannot be a threat to gambling, which i know OP never stated it to be like that. It will only bring about a change in the gambling surrounding where the activates will take place. That is there will be change in the way users interact with the casino.
Just like on what everyone is saying on here is on what sense do this thing that becomes a threat? We do know that on the moment that these things being developed then it will really be that bringing out that huge changes into this industry on which bringing up something unique experience. I do agree that this one wont really be coming cheap and thats why they are really that still observing. I dont know if there's already some application of Virtual reality on gambling space as these things already being applied on medical or health field on which we can really say that they are really that this is really that a great innovation or tech for it to be having that kind of usage. I dont really see this to be a threat but rather its a good addition on the current offerings of this industry is giving. On the time that we will be able to see such things available on gambling industry then it is already indicating that it is really that getting some attention or already getting up some demand because businesses will normally be trying out to apply on whats the current trend and since they aim for more revenue then they would really be that focusing or not letting themselves that getting behind into the competition. Every time or second counts because once it do becomes that known or get too saturated then the competition would be even getting more higher. On the moment that it is already possible then they would be making up such changes and will be offering into gambler masses and thats a good news for us who do gamble on which testing out new ways or experience on gambling or betting.
