I was having an argument with my colleagues earlier about the possibility of Bitcoin surpassing Gold?
Gold has been dominating the economy and markets for thousands of years as a means of exchange and holding wealth(even generational wealth). On the contrary, Bitcoin(which is now called digital gold) was launched in 2009 and has achieved widespread adoption and success. It has been growing rapidly ever since.
I think it will only take just a matter of time for Bitcoin market cap to supercedes that of Gold. Gold has been in existence for decades and has been the major asset for long term store of value, and has gained a massive adoption and recognition world wild, in other hands Bitcoin is just bearly 16 years compared to Gold. But from the look of things Bitcoin has gained a market cap %20 off Gold from 2009 till 2025 meaning that if Bitcoin should reach 40 years from now it could outperform gold market Cap because Bitcoin has more advantage over gold, while gold just remain the top is because it has been a major traditional asset for thousands of years and many people are not awear about Bitcoin and it's important. If many people who are aware about gold should know the difference between gold and Bitcoin then Bitcoin adoption will be massive.
