You made lot of sense, but how would you know that you're in the right religion that could help you in aging gracefully and with dignity as the OP stated? What if you're in a family made up of terrible people you don't care to make happy? I think there is a limit to what we can do and accomplish to be happy in life. so you do your best and leave the rest. By the way I believe in the spiritual and supernatural.
Did you mean there's a wrong religion? 
Any religion is good because it teach the fellow how to be good and not doing bad.
If you want to gain dignity, you must be rich because almost all people value money over anything. Unfortunately earning money without breaking the religion laws is almost impossible.
So, it's hard, you have to choose either die with peaceful life or die with dignity.
