If you want information on this matter I would rather recommend you to check on the reviews and experienced posted by other users of those mobile mining applications on forums or on reddit, I am sure you could find some information of how taxing those mining algorithms are to phones, depending of their ram, ROM, processor and even size of battery.

Though, I believe the best thing one can do when comes to those kinds of applications is to use common sense, obviously there will be further demand against the precessor an battery of the phone and that undoubtly will shorten the lifespan of the hardware in the long term. A phone which could perfectly function for 3 years before presenting any failures, will start to malfunction on 1 or 2 years of intensive use of those mining algorithms.
Someone needs to check the specifications of the phone itself and the demand/price of the coin one intends to mine and then sell at market price.
