Mars4: A Mars Metaverse with Yield-Bearing NFTs

Project Overview
Mars4 is a blockchain-based metaverse game featuring Play-to-Earn (P2E) mechanics on a virtual Mars.
Users can buy NFT land plots, explore them, build structures, and monetize via the MARS4 token.
NASA data is used to create a geographically precise 3D map of Mars, making Mars4 unique
 in the metaverse and crypto-gaming scene.
Targeting crypto-enthusiasts, gamers, and investors, the project stands out with its blend of innovation,
 passive income potential, and strong community engagement.





Initial Conditions & Budget
At launch in mid-2021, Mars4 already had a basic site (mars4.me) and a modest community
of ~10,000 members on Telegram and Discord. Reputation was neutral (early-stage visibility),
and the product was still in development (demo not yet live; NFT sales unstarted).
The marketing budget was around $500,000, allocated across various shilling channels and listing options.

Strategy & Tools
We recognized that building credibility in the crypto scene was essential, given fierce competition among metaverse projects.
Without a solid exchange listing, interest could drop off quickly, so we kicked off with private sales and announcements for audience warming,
then secured a KuCoin listing to bolster liquidity and draw in more investors.
Influencer and native shilling on social platforms amplified this effect, while DM shilling handled precise conversions.

Simultaneously, we launched spam-shilling for broad reach and airdrops to reel in new users,
whom we could later convert into NFT buyers. The demo release served as the final hook to retain the audience and showcase Mars4’s true value.
The logic was simple: reach → trust → conversion.

Spam Shilling

  • Volume: 2,000 messages in Telegram & Discord during listing (March 2022)
  • Conversion: 5% (~100 token/NFT purchases)
  • Budget: $5,000 for managers
  • Cost per dialog: ~$2.5
  • Example: Post-airdrop invites to the community

Influencers
  • Volume: 10 posts/videos on YouTube, X (e.g. trailer)

  • Budget: $20,000 (organization + tokens)

Unexpected Issues & Solutions

Demo Game Delay
Situation: The June 2022 demo (listed on DappRadar) got postponed due to technical fixes, sparking community frustration in Discord.
Solution: We quickly organized a YouTube AMA, explained the delay, and gave bonus tokens to active members.
Upside: 80% retention and boosted loyalty via transparency.

Airdrop Dumping
Situation: After the Dec 2021 airdrop, some users sold tokens en masse, briefly driving down the price.
Solution: We intensified native shilling on X and Reddit, plus engaged influencers to restore trust.
Upside: Price stabilized; new Reddit posts pulled in fresh faces.






Results & Takeaways
  • Subscriber Growth: 90k on Telegram, 43.9k on X, 32k on Discord (exceeding KPI by 80%)
  • NFT Sales:
     60k plots in the first year (6x target), $250k in a single day (CryptoNews)
  • Media Reach:
     2M+ views from articles/videos (double the goal)
  • Brand Recognition: Mentioned on major outlets (e.g. Bitcoin.com)
We fully hit (and exceeded) the KPIs. In hindsight, we could’ve ramped up influencer campaigns earlier to accelerate growth.
Still, the overall results were impressive.



Team & Partnerships
We collaborated closely with Mars4’s internal team, responsible for game dev and tokenomics. Partnerships with Illuvium, Polygon,
and DWF Labs (Cointelegraph) provided technical foundations and funding, while our shilling and listing expertise tied it all into an effective strategy.
