Most meme coins start as hype but only a few
survive long-term. Doge and SHIB stayed relevant by building
community-driven ecosystems beyond just price speculation.
Lately, we’re seeing experiments where meme coins go beyond just memes:
- Staking & DeFi (e.g., BONK, SHIB burns).
- Gaming & Rewards (e.g., in-game NFTs, meme-powered games).
- Governance & DAOs (e.g., community-driven funding).
What’s the next evolution of meme coins? Do people actually want utility-driven meme projects, or is hype still king?
Perhaps you should be aware that by definition, a memecoin id an asset which by itself does not have any utility and it's price is only fueled by the hype and the sentiment of the community which supports the coin, nothing more.
If a coin has an actual utility and serves a purpose beyond just being a meme, then automatically stops being a Memecoin and turns into something completely different than a Memecoin, perhaps an utility token or something similar to it.
As someone already said in this thread, a Memecoin with a real utility is oxymoron, a contradiction.
