The Europa League is the only competition Manchester United has any hope of winning silverware this season. They are in bad shape in the Premier League, sitting comfortably in 15th position on the league table. But they have done this before, Manchester won the Europa League with Erik ten hHag despite having a poor run in the Premier League that season. It is possible that Amorim can repeat history for Manchester United.
It's good news for Manchester United that there are not many big and experienced clubs in quarter finals, and they can move toward final match with not too big challenge. They only need to be a best version of themselves and play well to take the trophy but their general performances in this season so far are not too good. If they want to win the trophy, they have no option than suddenly improving themselves and have some good performances in remaining matches.

They don't have good run in Premier League that comes to last 9 matches and with 10 points less than top six, and their temporary rank is 13th, it's no chance for them to climb up to top six. Many competitors to beat for achieving a six position and their form is bad enough to make this taks impossible.
A six position won't help them too much, won't bring them to UEFA Champions League but if they win UEFA Europa League title, they will join Champions League next season. They need to play maximum 5 more matches including the final to take this trophy, and they know their main or even only task in rest of season is there.
