I look at bitcoin as my early retirement fund. Obviously, none of us want nor expect a significant crash and loss of value from which Bitcoin will never recover.
I am sure that quite a lot of bitcoiners who have been in the network for a lot of time also look at bitcoin in the very same way. Bitcoin is volatile, but since it is a retirement fund, it is a very long term investment depending on the age of the individual, and bitcoin does so well in the long run, neither is it going to go to zero.
No matter how much BTC crash, it will always recover, just that that fear will always be there whenever bitcoin starts to crash. We all know this fact, but adapting to it is a problem.
@Pmalek, I love your view of bitcoin. If everyone starts to view bitcoin in such a manner, we will not experience these much noise at every correction.
I always get excited when Bitcoin's price drops a lot, because it gives me more opportunities to invest and make a smart DCA! So, Bitcoin was profitable 97% of the time for those who bought outside of this peak. What are the chances that even those who bought at this peak and held on will be profitable in the future?
Those who are patient in this market will win.
Don't you think 75% is a bit high?
It sounds very high, but that's just predicting the correct outcome of a match without considering the given odds. If most of your money is on the favorites to win, than you won't be getting high odds, but your win chances will be higher. You will also not profit that much per game. With point spreads, you are closer to doubling your money with every successful bet.
I'm also having more wins in my sports bets than losses and I don't even follow football that much. I make bets with low odds, but with better chances of winning. But very low odds almost don't compensate for the risk, because in case of loss, the amount bet is much higher than the amount I'd win with the ticket prize. E.g: odds of 1.00, I think that above 1.60 it starts to get interesting.
In fact, I'm finding sports betting easier than trading altcoins. However, I'm still not making a profit from sports betting, just more wins, because when there are losses they are greater than the gains.
