I’ve seen how drug abuse messes up the lives of young people, not just in terms of health but also their relationships and future plans. A friend I grew up with started using in high school and it quickly got out of hand. He dropped out, got into trouble with the law, and ended up needing serious intervention. I think one key thing missing is early education, not just telling teens “drugs are bad,” but teaching them how addiction actually works and how it ruins decision-making and relationships. Family support and trusted mentors really make a difference, especially when young people feel lost or pressured.
There was no need for you to pump this thread again to the front page, you could have easily started a new topic if you felt like talking about these kind of problems which are an scourge to the youth in several countries.
Anyways, today there are many audio-visual resources which can be used by parents and educators to teach children and teens why drugs and their abuse are bad and are completely against their development as responsible and productive members of society, it is not just like saying "drugs are bad" anymore. There are even programs aimed to prevent teens to abuse drugs by directly showing them the consequences which others have suffered and ended up in prison. I think there is a TV show about it called "Schock therapy".
