I went to the site, and it asked me to password protect my account. How do I do that? When I click on the user ID that was created for me, nothing happens, it doesn't take me to any other page.

Yes, the accounts get set up automatically and you get a signed a username. Click on the account tab and there, you will see an option to register account email, set password and add 2FA. Make sure you copy and keep your account URL safely if you want to return to the account.
