If I'm to give my opinion, I'll say that the authorities are bias, Nigeria is becoming a country where the law is mostly favoured by the rich and those that are high in power, I know those cows belongs to one rich politician or a top business person in that region that's why the authorities acted fast when the cows died but couldn't consider the damages and lose that the farmer has suffered overtime from continuous grazing and destruction of his farm yields.
I see nothing wrong with what the farmers did, he only applied chemicals to save his crops from continous damage and it's the herders fault for taking their herds to his farm to eat up his crops and destroy his farm, it's just like the police arresting someone cause he defended himself against a gang that came to kill or kidnap him, that's unfair. What's your opinion, who do you think is at fault?
Exactly mate, same thing was on my mind, this information is brought on air because it belongs to one of the highly placed person.
In most parts of the country, these cows cause a lot of damages to farm produce and even if those farmers report to the nearest police station, the matter won't get anywhere, but because they are owned by someone who knows someone, the case was immediately looked into.
I love the courage of that man that poisoned those cows, atleast they would avoid that area for now.
