I am not surprised by this, they keep pushing the boundaries because people keep using big centralized exchanges despite everything.
EU is officially releasing digital euro (read CBDC) in October 2025... that is 100% connected with new regulations.
I am actually quite bearish on this. I cannot see The ECB releasing the Digital Euro, or even a pilot of the Digital Euro, in October 2025. It is too tight a schedule for them to be ready when they haven't done anything for years.
They may delay, but it is simpler than it looks like.
There are many successfully worldwide projects so they might do something that works to spy citizens
They have no clue.
Citizen do not want it.
Banks do not want it.
The only want it, but they don’t know the reason for it.
Yes, they could spy their citizen and make their rate decisions spread more quickly, but that would be a game changer for them?
